COPA CARGO

In 1947, with the technical and financial support of Pan American Airways, a group of business took the initiave to found the Panamanian Aviation Company (COPA).

The company began operations with 24 employees, dispersed among the capital of Panama and two provinces in the Western region of the country, beginning operations with domestic flights to 3 cities with 3 Douglas C-47 airplanes. Within a short period of time Guatemala was added as a destination, converting Copa into an international airline.

Today, Copa Airlines has 22 737-700 and 737-800 passenger airplanes with an average of 3,000 kgs of cargo per aircraft which transport daily 75,000 kgs of cargo, mail, courier packages.
